Ópera XXI, the association that brings together the 25 most important theaters, festivals and stable opera seasons in Spain, has promoted the celebration of the Ópera XXI Awards since 2018, the country's main lyrical awards, with the aim of recognizing the best of activity on the Spanish opera and zarzuela stages.
The main objective of these awards is to continue to consolidate the visibility and essential contribution of opera to Spanish society, its role as an essential asset, and to vindicate the role of culture in our lives. They have the support of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Spain (INAEM) and their annual ceremony is alternately hosted by the different scenic spaces that make up the association.
Ópera XXI brings together the 25 stable opera theatres, seasons and festivals in our country and has two honorary member theatres of enormous importance. It is formed by:
