The Asociación de Teatros, Festivales y Temporadas Estables de Ópera de España promotes the celebration since 2018 of the Premios Ópera XXI, with the aim of recognising the best of lyrical activity on Spanish stages.
The awards, which will be presented next Saturday, in a ceremony conducted by the Director of the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Daniel Bianco, and the Stage Director Bárbara Lluch, recognise the best of the Spanish stage in the areas of interpretation (Best Singer and Best Young Singer), musical direction (Best Conductor), opera production (Best Stage Director, Best New Production, Best Latin American Production) and the most outstanding initiative to promote opera during the 2019-2020 season, the cycle that interrupted the pandemic and forced venues to close during the worst months of Covid-19.
Ópera XXI brings together the 25 stable opera theatres, seasons and festivals in our country and has two honorary member theatres of enormous importance. It is formed by:
